Pari returns readers to the enchanting world of her Waterstones Children's Book Prize-winning Greenwild series in this thrilling stand-alone adventure, set ten years later.

In the book, new heroine Annika journeys to the Utter North - a land of towering ice cliffs, frozen seas, and powerful ice magic - in a bid to save the ocean-ruled kingdom of Iffenwild.

In her interactive event Pari introduces the Greenwild series, setting up its magical world and the journey so far. She then focuses on The Frozen King, delving into its wintry setting and ice magic. There's a reading and a discussion about Pari's inspirations: the real-world Arctic, including its astonishing glaciers, polar bears and huskies, and ancient Icelandic and Norse myths and legends.

The event will be followed by book sales and a signing with the author.

Age Guidance: Families with children aged 8-12.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees need a ticket to this event.

A series that goes from strength to strength, combining huge depth and heart with heart-stopping adventure. I devoured these books and absolutely adored them.

Pari Thomson is Editorial Director for picture books at Bloomsbury Children’s Books. Half Persian, half English, she lived in many places while she was growing up, including India, Pakistan, the USA, the UK and Belgium. She studied at Oxford University and now lives near the river in London, not far from Kew Gardens.
