The Heart of the Storm: Teresa Heapy and Kate Read

Author, Teresa Heapy, and illustrator and Norwich Book Festival Patron Kate Read, will introduce characters from their book, Heart of the Storm - Ruby the noisy fox and Growl, a quiet-loving wolf.

After reading from their book, Teresa and Kate will guide children to creating new characters, encouraging them that they can be writers and illustrators and it's ok to try things out and not always get it right first time.

The event will be followed by book sales and a signing with the author and illustrator.

Tickets: £6

Age Guidance: Families with children aged 5-7.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees need a ticket to this event.

Teresa Heapy

Teresa Heapy is an award-winning children’s author. She’s written 11 picture books, including The Wonder Tree, Loved to Bits, The Marvellous Moon Map, The Spectacular City, The Enormous Pineapple and the Very Little series including Very Little Sleeping Beauty and Very Little Rapunzel. Her first children’s novel, Will Wolfheart, was published by David Fickling Books last year. Teresa has also written over 90 educational books for schools and worked as a commissioning editor in publishing. She has three children and lives in Oxford.

Kate Read

Kate Read is a best selling children's author and illustrator based in Norfolk. Her first book One Fox - A Counting Book Thriller, published by Two Hoots, Macmillan, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book prize, the Klaus Flugge Prize and was awarded an Ezra Jack Keats Honour.
