Join historian and author Greg Jenner and illustrator Rikin Parekh for a funny, fast-paced romp through Roman Britain’s messy beginnings, based on the award-winning children’s book Totally Chaotic History: Roman Britain Gets Rowdy!

Peppered with jokes, funny images, and audience interaction.

The event will be followed by book sales and a signing with the author and host.

Greg Jenner

Greg Jenner is a British public historian, author, and broadcaster with a particular interest in communicating history through comedy.

He writes funny books for adults and kids, and is best known as the host and creator of the chart-topping, award-winning BBC historical comedy podcast You’re Dead To Me (over 150 million downloads), which pairs up top comedians with expert historians. He also worked for 11 years on the smash-hit BBC TV comedy series Horrible Histories.

In 2025, Greg was awarded an Honorary Doctorate and Fellowship by the University of York’s Institute for the Public Understanding of the Past (IPUP) where has has taught for the past decade.

Rikin Parekh

Rikin Parekh studied art at the Camberwell College of Arts and the University of Westminster. He has since worked storyboarding and designing monsters for the film industry and selling books for a national chain.

He also works part-time as a Teaching Assistant in Primary schools in NW London and finds it extremely rewarding.

When he’s not drawing you’ll probably find him at the cinema or at Comic Con.
