Bear and Bird: Jarvis

Cosy, funny and with heaps of heart, this is the story of friendship from the creator of Alan’s Big Scary Teeth and The Boy with Flowers in his Hair. Jarvis will read his new book Bear and Bird - The Cloud, then delve into some of his favourite other stories from the series. We’ll learn how to draw Bear and Bird and help create a new companion for the fuzzy and feathery friends.

The event will be followed by book sales and a signing with the author.

Age Guidance: Families with children aged 5-7.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees need a ticket to this event.

Jarvis

Jarvis previously worked as a record sleeve designer, animation director and bingo caller before becoming a children’s bookmaker. His titles include Bear and Bird, an illustrated fiction series that follows the funny mix-ups and comic misunderstandings between a pair of best friends. The first of six titles, Bear and Bird: The Picnic and Other Stories, was the Indie Book of the Month on release and has been published into 15 different territories. His picture books include Mr Santa, Tropical Terry, Mrs Mole, I’m Home!, Thank You, The Boy with Flowers in His Hair, which won the Oscar’s Book Prize and the Indies Book Prize, and Alan’s Big, Scary Teeth, which won the V&A Best Illustrated Book. His titles have sold over 2 million copies worldwide and have been published into over 25 languages. Jarvis lives in Manchester.
