A monstrously good event for young readers!

A spine-chillingly spooky story event, perfect for children aged 9-12. Recommended by Lemony Snicket, Gloam is perfect for kids who like their tales creepy and aren’t afraid of the dark.

Debut author Jack Mackay will share his love for horror, and the inspiration behind his first book in this Halloween inspired event. He’ll share how real-life helped shape his book, from living in his grandparents’ creaky old house, to his siblings’ love of stories that scare them.

This event is followed by book sales and signing with Norfolk Children's Book Centre.

Tickets: £5.00

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees need a ticket to this event.

Jack Mackay

Jack Mackay is a writer, theatre-maker and horror enthusiast. Though he’s currently floating around somewhere near York, his heart is in the Midlands, in his grandparents’ creaky old house where he grew up. He has written stories since he was four years old, but this is the first one that was any good. He also co-founded Griffonage Theatre, a York-based company with a taste for the madcap and macabre. He loves his family, his dog, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and K-pop.
